With Bible in hand The earth is the Lord's and those who dwell in it The Bible is God's inspired book. It tells us who he is, of his plans for the earth and for the life he has created on it - in particular, human beings, who he has made 'in his own image' and to whom he has given the privilege and responsibility of caring for it. But we have abused the earth to the point when only God's direct intervention can save it. Covid-19 is not the end of the world but it may be preparing the way for God's remedy which is to send his son as the angels promised when he ascended to heaven. God is in control. He will do it. "This same Jesus will come in the same way you saw him go into heaven" (Acts 1) "God has fixed a day in which he will rule the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and given assurance to all by raising him from the dead" (Acts 17) "On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem.... and the Lord will be king over all the earth" (Zechariah 14) "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.
