With Bible in Hand Know that the kingdom of God is near This is the time of year in the Northern hemisphere when we are surrounded by the sights and sounds of spring. Lengthening days, budding trees, spring grass, wild flowers and nesting birds herald the great blessing of rebirth and the coming of summer. But signs of changing seasons are nothing compared with signs in the world today indicating that God has not forgotten His promise to establish His kingdom on the earth. One of the clearest of them is the re-birth of the nation of Israel - God's ancient, much despised, people through whom His great promises and purpose were delivered and will be fulfilled. The world is waiting, largely unaware, for the Lord God's coming Spring and the return of His son, Jesus Christ, who tells his followers to pray for it for God's kingdom to come and His will to be done "on earth as it is in heaven."
